Front-of-House Basics
First and fore-most, you are assisting to help manage the movement of the audience in and out of the venue. Most of you will get to attend the Performance.
As such, people associated with the Performance (incl. FOH volunteers) are covered for Public Liability Insurance.

Pre-Performance Briefing
Generally this will commence 90mins before Performance commences.
- At the Briefing:
- Key personnel are identified.
- Outline of emergency evacuation proceedures.
- Finalisation of Ticket-Types for the Performance.
- General outline of times eg. interval(s), soundcheck, etc and locations eg. Toilets, foyers, etc
- Job allocations.
- Venue familiarisation.

Uniform
Please wear all black – conservative, but comfortable (this includes footwear)!
Be aware of the formality of the venue.
You will most probably be standing / walking for about an hour-and-a-half before the Performance.
Most venues only have very limited, unsecured storage, so travel light.
